Solar energy is included in the US "infrastructure recovery" plan

H.R.2, the Moving Forward Act

After the epidemic, the simplest economic stimulus recovery plan was naturally infrastructure. During the 2008 financial crisis, China adopted a 4 trillion infrastructure recovery plan.

After Covid-19 swept the world, China’s economic recovery response was a new infrastructure, while the US’s recent announcement was still “infrastructure.” Unlike others, the US $1.5 trillion infrastructure investment bill proposed by the United States includes measures aimed at supporting US solar and other renewable energy.

The Forward Act proposes important investment plans for the transportation, housing, connectivity, water, and (most relevant) clean energy industries in the United States, and has adopted a series of promotional measures.

The expected measures supported by the Advancement Act for renewable energy include:

-Modernization of energy infrastructure, including investment of more than $70 billion to help modify the grid to accommodate more renewable energy;

-“Revitalize” the US commitment to clean energy through existing tax incentives;

-Promote green energy and energy efficiency projects that adopt road labor practices.

Specifically, policy incentives related to the solar industry include:

-Electricity credit expansion from certain renewable resources

-Expand and modify energy credits

-Expand credit lines for carbon sequestration

-Selective payment of renewable energy electricity

-Green Energy Open Trading Partnership

-Solar device donation program in low-income and underserved areas

Although the Advancement Act obviously has a long way to go before it is passed into law, it represents the growing interest of governments around the world in obtaining economic benefits from clean energy, and it also means that the US government accepts the development of clean energy as a An important starting point for economic recovery after the epidemic.

Ross Hopper, president of the American Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), expressed great welcome to the Forward Act, saying that he is ready to work with the House and Senate leaders to formulate policies to “help American solar workers lead the economic recovery.”

SEIA believes that, including many of the policies proposed in the Progress Act, clean energy can add hundreds of billions of dollars in investment to the economy and may increase employment opportunities by one million or more.

The “Advance Act” has been published on the official website of the US Department of Transportation. For the original text, please follow the prompts at the end of the text.
